All the costs of the pup are paid for by the charity….that includes food, vet bills, monthly prevention from parasites etc You will be responsible for extra treats and poop bags.

The commitment is roughly 1 hour a week of formal training.
- For the first 6 weeks you’ll attend a puppy class at our facility in Breslau and take an online class. You will also meet one-on-one with your trainer for Public Access outings
- Then after that the training alternates between the training center in Breslau and Public Access training usually at a local mall or park. Which works out to 1 hour per week. Group classes are flexible and are not at the same time or the same day to try and meet everyones scheduling needs.
You’ll have the puppy for 1 year approximately. Is it hard to give the pup up?
Yes sir!
For sure you’re gonna cry but it feels much the same as when you raise your kids and then send them out into the world to be amazing people.

- You will have the opportunity to meet the person whose life you’re rebuilding.
- You’ll be able to stay in touch as much as each party feels comfortable. Generally speaking the person is so grateful to the puppy raiser that they are delighted to remain in touch.
- You’ll be forever part of the Partners with Paws community and family.
Some fun information:

- Your pup in-training gets to go with you everywhere, (how fun is that!)
- You can have more than one handler, so if family members would like to be involved in the training that would be amazing. We love showing the all the people that talking about mental health is good and that there are people who are overcoming the battle with the help of their superhero pup.
- There is always cover if you have to be away from home and can’t take your pup with you.
- Your pup can be alone at home, crated, but not for more than 5 hours at a time and less when they are under the age of 5 months.
- There is no problem with you already having pets, as long as your pet is friendly and spayed or neutered. Our pups even can live in houses with bunnies, cats, birds etc.
